Whether you're running the 5K, 15K, or the all‑day Infinity format, this guide breaks down everything you need to know to get the most out of the event—plus insider intel you won’t find on the official schedule. For full official details, you can also reference the Tough Mudder Austin event page.

Note

Use this guide for on-the-ground strategy, but always double-check the official Tough Mudder Austin event page and Event Day Program for any last-minute updates to wave times, parking, or course notes.

WHAT TO EXPECT TODAY
The event runs throughout the day with wave starts beginning at 7:45 AM for Infinity, 8 AM for the 15K, and 10 AM for the 5K. You’ll find the full schedule and cutoffs in the official Austin Event Day Program. All racing stops at sunset, and the festival village closes at 6 PM. General parking is located at 1701 Little Midland – Dorbrandt Road in Burnet, as listed on the 2026 Tough Mudder events calendar.

Heads Up

All racing stops at sunset and festival village shuts down at 6 PM—choose an early enough wave (especially for Infinity) so you’re not racing the clock to finish your last lap.

GEAR ESSENTIALS
• Hydration pack or bottle (strongly recommended)
• Photo ID + QR code screenshot for check‑in (the event program walks through the registration and check‑in process)
• Nutrition or electrolytes if you’re running Infinity
• Avoid spiked shoes—they're prohibited on course per the official Tough Mudder rules & gear FAQ

THE COURSE
Reveille Peak Ranch delivers steep granite climbs, thick mud, creek crossings, and rugged forest trails. You can preview the style of terrain and activities on the ranch’s official site. Obstacles include a 15‑foot wall, a massive quarterpipe, and an ice‑filled plunge, all in line with the signature features highlighted in the Tough Mudder 15K obstacle course overview. The 15K features six aid stations, while the 5K includes two.

INSIDER INTELLIGENCE
• The Ranch heats up fast—early wave starts enjoy cooler temperatures and shorter waits at obstacles.
• Infinity runners should pace Lap 1 conservatively; Lap 2 is where you gain time using bypass lanes, which are explained in more depth in the Infinity endurance series guide.
• Bring dry socks for the festival area—creek crossings make foot care essential.
• Cell service is limited. Screenshot maps and confirmations ahead of time.
• The course’s rocky sections are notorious for ankle rolls—stay conservative on downhills.

Pro Tip

If you can snag an early wave, you’ll get cooler temps, shorter obstacle lines, and more total time on course—especially valuable for Infinity runners looking to rack up laps.

Heads Up

Cell service at Reveille Peak Ranch is limited. Download driving directions, the Event Day Program PDF, and your registration QR code before leaving town so you’re not stuck without access at check-in.

PRICING
5K starts at $149, 15K at $159, and Infinity at $209, fitting within the wider 2026 pricing structure across all Tough Mudder events.
