What Austin Texas Things is
Austin Texas Things is a local publication covering what’s actually open, actually happening, and actually worth the drive in Austin, Texas — new restaurant and bar openings, events worth planning around, swimming holes and outdoor conditions, family things to do, and development stories sourced from city permit filings before they’re announced anywhere else.
We publish two editions every day — a morning edition (~7 AM) and an afternoon edition (~4 PM) — each with an original article on the site and platform-native posts on Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok.
By the numbers
Figures current as of August 2026 and updated periodically. We only publish numbers we can source — ask us for the latest before you print one.
The Daybreak mark
Our logo is a rising sun over two water ripples — daybreak over spring-fed water. The two ripples are the two editions we publish every day. Use it in terracotta on light backgrounds, white on dark ones. Please don’t stretch it, recolor it, add effects, or set it on busy imagery without a contrast layer.

The sonic logo
Every video we publish ends with a three-note rising motif — A, C♯, E — in the rhythm of “aus-tin-THINGS.” It plays under the spoken sign-off, never over it.
