Pumpkin Nights at Pioneer Farms in northeast Austin runs through Sunday, Nov. 1, and it is open tonight, Oct. 25, with entry from 6 to 9:30 p.m. According to ATX Things' read of the event's own site on Oct. 25, 2026, tickets are timed, sold online only, and parking is $10 a car. Adult (13+) general admission runs $24 to $38 and kids 4 to 12 run $16 to $28, depending on the night. Ages 3 and under are free.
If you want to go with kids before it closes, the choices that matter are which night, which time slot, and what shoes to wear. We have not been this season. Everything below comes from the organizer's pages, read this morning.
Pumpkin Nights Austin at Pioneer Farms
When is Pumpkin Nights open this week?
The run ends Sunday, Nov. 1. Per the event guide, October nights from Oct. 2 on follow two schedules:
| Night | Entry time slots | Parking lot closes | Trail closes | Event ends |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mon–Thu | 6:00–9:00 p.m. | 9:30 p.m. | 10:30 p.m. | 10:45 p.m. |
| Fri–Sun | 6:00–9:30 p.m. | 10:00 p.m. | 11:00 p.m. | 11:15 p.m. |

The guide says Mondays and Tuesdays were closed through Oct. 6 and that the event is open Oct. 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27, so Monday and Tuesday of this week are open nights. The trail closes before the event does: the last stretch of each night is the food-and-games area only.
Slots run every 30 minutes. Arrive inside the one you bought. The organizer says early arrivals may be asked to wait and that people stuck in the parking line get an exception.
What does a family of four pay?
Prices are posted as ranges that start low and rise as a night sells out. The site says your exact price is confirmed at checkout, so treat these as the published floor and ceiling, not a quote.
| Ticket (Oct. 2–Nov. 1) | Weekday | Weekend |
|---|---|---|
| Adult (13+) | $24–28 | $34–38 |
| Little (4–12) | $16–18 | $24–28 |
| 3 and under | Free | Free |
Source: Pumpkin Nights Austin ticket pricing, read Oct. 25, 2026.
Our arithmetic on those ranges, for two adults and two kids ages 4 to 12: $80 to $92 on a weekday, $116 to $132 on a weekend, before the $10 parking and anything bought inside. The site does not list checkout fees, so we have not included any. Weeknights are the cheaper way in, and Monday and Tuesday nights are open this week.
The site's own banner says nights are selling out. We could not see which specific nights are sold out, and Saturday, Oct. 31 is Halloween. If that is your night, buy before you drive.

What is the night actually like with kids?
The organizer describes a half-mile walk through nine "lands" of carved and custom-built pumpkins, which it says most people finish in about an hour. After that is Pumpkin Village: food and drinks (alcohol is served), family games, live pumpkin carving, a fire show and vendors. The event bills itself as skipping the scares, which matters if your kid does not want a haunted house. (A haunted house and a VR experience exist, but they are listed as VIP-ticket perks, not part of general admission.)
Practical details from the guide:
- The ground. Grass, dirt, gravel and sand with some inclines. Light strollers work; the organizer says wheelchairs have proven difficult.
- Dust. The venue says the dirt paths can get dusty in dry weather and that it waters them. If anyone in your group is sensitive to dust, plan for it.
- Shoes and layers. Farm shoes, a light layer after dark, bug spray on warm nights. Our forecast pull this morning (Open-Meteo) has Austin at a low of 62 tonight, then highs of 81 Monday and 79 Tuesday with a 17% rain chance Tuesday.
- Gate rules. Mobile tickets scan from your phone (the guide suggests a screenshot in case signal is thin). Bags may be searched. There is no re-entry. No outside food or drink. Costumes are encouraged; props and weapons stay home. Service animals only.
- Rain. The event stays open through minor rain. If lightning or heavy rain closes it, tickets move to a new date automatically and the organizer emails options within 24 hours.
- Changing nights. Tickets are non-refundable. You can transfer up to 48 hours before your slot for $5 per ticket, subject to availability.
Search results for "Pioneer Farms" can drop you at the wrong gate. The organizer says to use its map pin, which goes to the event entrance, and to allow up to 30 minutes in the parking line on busy nights.
Where do you park, and what does it cost?
Parking is $10 per car, cash or card, paid on arrival. On the event's own account, busy evenings can mean up to 30 minutes in the parking line, and the lot closes at 9:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday to Sunday, before the trail does. We did not run a drive-time check from any neighborhood this morning (no mapping key was available to this desk), so we are not quoting one.
What are the free Halloween options this week?
If $100-plus for a family night is not the plan, the Greater Austin YMCA lists free events open to the community. Per the Y's 2026 Halloween page (read Oct. 25):
- Trick or Treat at the Y, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 9 to 11 a.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Austin location is the East Communities YMCA, 5315 Ed Bluestein Blvd., Austin 78723. The other two locations are in Buda and Dripping Springs. The page lists RSVP links for each.
- The Y's Saturday, Oct. 24 Spooktacular has already happened.
We have not been to the Y event and have not confirmed whether an RSVP is required to walk in; the page links RSVPs for the other events, so check before you go. Trunk-or-treat listings for Halloween itself are scattered across churches and schools. We could not confirm any of those against an official page this morning, so we are leaving them out rather than guess.
