Urban Egg, a Colorado-based breakfast chain, opens its first Austin restaurant Monday, Oct. 12, at 7600 Burnet Road, Suite 250, in the Northcross Center. According to ATX Things' reading of the company's own Austin page, the three-day grand opening (Oct. 12–14) starts with a line at 7 a.m., and the first 20 tables each day get free coffee for a year, with fine print.

The restaurant has not posted its regular hours on its Austin page as of Sunday morning. If you plan to go before work, call (737) 257-3447 first.

What does Urban Egg's grand opening actually give away?

Four things, all listed on the restaurant's own Austin page. The terms matter, so here they are plainly.

OfferWho gets itThe fine print on the page
Free coffee for a yearFirst 20 tables daily, Oct. 12–14House or decaf coffee, up to $4, mug presented. One per table. Dine-in only. Valid through Oct. 31, 2027.
Free pancakes for a yearOne winner, drawn at randomA pancake flight every week for a year, loaded to a loyalty account. You must be a member of the Urban EGGsperience program.
"Dance in the door"Any guest who visibly dances on entryOne free buttermilk pancake with an entrée purchase. Dine-in only.

Heads Up

The free-coffee offer is "first 20 tables," not "first 20 people." A table of four is one table. If you want the mug deal, the page says the line forms at 7 a.m.; it does not say when the doors open or whether tables are seated in line order. Ask at the host stand.

When is the ribbon cutting?

Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. The Austin page lists the Anderson High School cheer team performing and an Austin Chamber ribbon cutting. If you hate crowds, that is the hour to skip.

What is on the menu?

A flight of small pancakes with a mug of coffee on a wooden table (AI-generated illustration, not the restaurant's food)

Urban Egg's chain-wide menu leads with pancakes. There are traditional flights (three pancakes: buttermilk, blueberry, strawberry or chocolate chip) and a "gourmet" flight where you pick three from a list that includes Lemon Ricotta, Blueberry Streusel and Cinnamon Swirl. Breakfast also runs to omelets, cinnamon rolls, burritos and tacos, huevos rancheros and a Chicken & Waffle with bacon jam. Community Impact reports shrimp and grits are served only in Texas.

The drink list is long. There are mimosas by the glass or by the 750 mL bottle, a Bloody Mary the menu calls a "32 ingredient masterpiece," an espresso martini and a breakfast old fashioned. The menu says alcohol labels vary by market.

The online menu does not list prices, so this guide does not either. Don't treat any price you see elsewhere as Austin's until the restaurant posts one.

Pro Tip

You can join a waitlist or make a reservation for this location through Yelp; both links are on the restaurant's Austin page. For opening week, the page itself says to get in line at 7 a.m., so a waitlist spot may not replace the line.

What was filed before it opened?

Urban Egg's first Austin location is the fifth in the company's new prototype and refreshed branding, according to a company marketing statement relayed by Community Impact in July. That outlet also reported a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing listing a $400,000 project cost.

City permit records tracked by ATX Things show the suite's path. A commercial expedited-review permit filed Oct. 2, 2025 describes a change of use at 7600 Burnet Rd Unit 250, "from bank to shell space (3333 SF)." A second filing for the same unit followed in November 2025. WhatNow, citing the Austin Business Journal, put the restaurant at roughly 3,500 square feet; those two sizes differ, and we have not reconciled them.

What else do locals need to know?

  • Parking: not published. We have not been to the center and won't guess.
  • What's next: WhatNow reports a second Austin-area Urban Egg planned for Leander, expected mid-2027.
  • What we haven't confirmed: opening-day hours, prices, and whether the restaurant will stay open through the afternoon during the three-day event.
