Austin has seven Michelin-starred restaurants after the Texas guide was announced Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, according to the guide's own list. Two are new: Fabrik, a plant-based restaurant in Tarrytown, and Kappo Kappo, a French-Japanese chef's counter at the Austin Proper Hotel. Two others are barbecue joints, and you can walk up to either one today. The rest of this page is how to get a table at each.

Which Austin restaurants have a Michelin star for 2026?
The Michelin Guide published the Texas selection on Oct. 8. Statewide it lists 19 one-star restaurants. Austin's seven, in the guide's order, are:
| Restaurant | Style | Status in 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Barley Swine | Chef-driven, farm-to-table Texas | Starred; its general manager, Stefan Davis, also won the guide's Service Award |
| Craft Omakase | Japanese tasting counter | Starred |
| Fabrik | Vegan tasting menu | New One Star (the guide says "promoted") |
| Hestia | Live-fire cooking | Starred |
| InterStellar BBQ | Central Texas barbecue | Starred |
| Kappo Kappo | French-Japanese omakase | New One Star, its first appearance in the guide |
| LeRoy and Lewis Barbecue | New-school Texas barbecue | Starred |

Which two can you eat at today, no reservation?
InterStellar BBQ and LeRoy and Lewis. Both are walk-up barbecue, and both are open this Saturday. Weather is on your side: about 60 degrees this morning, a high near 90 and no rain in the forecast (Open-Meteo, Oct. 10).
InterStellar BBQ is at 12233 Ranch Road 620 N, Suite 105, in far Northwest Austin. Its own FAQ is blunt about the line. It says people start arriving around 9:30 a.m. on weekends for an 11 a.m. opening, and it suggests getting there between 9:15 and 9:45 a.m. for the best shot at the full menu. It says it typically starts running out of its most popular items between 1:30 and 2 p.m., and that it cannot promise the full menu to everyone who reaches the front.

LeRoy and Lewis Barbecue is at 5621 Emerald Forest Dr. in South Austin, which the restaurant describes as off Stassney Lane about 1.5 miles west of I-35. Its website lists 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and says some items sell out around lunch, naming flatiron, beef cheeks and brisket. It runs a dinner specials menu Friday through Sunday. Closed Tuesdays.
LeRoy and Lewis Barbecue
$$If you want brisket at LeRoy and Lewis, go for lunch, not dinner. The restaurant says brisket is one of the items that can sell out around midday.
How do you book Fabrik and Kappo Kappo?
Both show the top price tier ($$$$) on Michelin's pages, and both take reservations online.
Fabrik is at 3108 Windsor Rd. in Tarrytown. The Michelin inspectors' note calls it the chef's and her husband's "new home in Tarrytown," with high ceilings, wood beams and tables angled toward an open kitchen. The restaurant's own posts say it moved from East MLK Boulevard. The menu is entirely plant-based, built from Texas farm produce, in a five-course or an eight-course format. Fabrik takes reservations through its website, which links to OpenTable, and offers a waitlist form when your date is full. It says it cannot cater to nut or soy allergies because of how much of both it uses, and can do a fully gluten-free menu with advance notice. Google lists it as closed Saturday and Sunday, so tonight is out.
Fabrik
$$$$Kappo Kappo is inside the Austin Proper Hotel at 600 W. 2nd St. in Downtown. The twin brothers Haru and Gohei Kishi, born in Paris to Japanese parents, run it. The inspectors say the best seats are at the L-shaped counter, and that you should not "assume this is a typical hushed omakase": guests chat and the brothers tell stories. Michelin names toro tartare and Wagyu with classic French sauces as recurring dishes. Book through OpenTable. Google lists Tuesday–Thursday 6–9 p.m. and Friday–Saturday 5–11 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday. We could not see whether any seats are open tonight.
Kappo Kappo
$$$$Neither restaurant's tasting-menu prices were readable on the pages we checked, so we are not quoting any. Expect demand to jump after a Michelin announcement and look at the booking page before you plan around a date.
What about the other three?
Hestia, 607 W. 3rd St., is live-fire cooking around a 20-foot hearth, with an à la carte menu or a chef's tasting menu. Its own site lists 5:30–10 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 5:30–11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, closed Mondays. It offers valet on Fridays and Saturdays at 3rd and Nueces and validates parking at the 3rd and Shoal garage after 5 p.m.
Barley Swine, 6555 Burnet Rd., Suite 400, serves a fall tasting menu that its website had posted as "Fall 2026," with optional beverage pairings. Google lists it Thursday through Sunday only.
Craft Omakase, 4400 N. Lamar Blvd., Suite 102, takes reservations through Tock, per its website, and is a seasonal Japanese tasting menu.
The guide's list is not a ranking. Michelin gives these seven the same One Star. Where we put them in the table above is the guide's own order.
